After a 25+ year career in polo Nico is eagle eyed when it comes to spotting a weakness in your technique and suggesting a tweak to improve it.
He’ll have you swinging more fluidly, taking a backhand more confidently, riding more securely and reading the play more intuitively.
He also has an uncanny ability to match players and ponies so you get the best out of your time with us.
I loved polo before ... now I have an addiction!
On a typical day you’ll spend two hours in the morning riding with Nico (a 4-goal pro). This might be a mixture of tuition, stick and balling or polo drills – designed to develop your polo technique and riding skills.
Following a break for lunch and time for a siesta or a leisurely dip in our pool, you'll head out for daily chukkas - where you can put what you’ve learned into practise. You’ll be joined by Nico, Lolo, other guests and a mixture of our resident players or local friends.
These practice games, on our full size polo field, are the perfect way to learn about strategy, positioning and team skills. We ensure everyone enjoys themselves and has time on the ball and plenty of opportunities to develop their game. For us, first and foremost, polo should be fun!
OUR POLO PONIES
We offer up to four ponies for stick and balling in the morning (depending on your level and what you want to work on) and a selection of ponies to suit you for afternoon chukkas.
We have horses suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced players. Our herd has been hand-picked by Nico, who is a master at sourcing and producing polo ponies with both speed, stamina and control – ideal for low goal polo.
Whether we have guests staying or not, Nico, Lolo and our resident team of polo professionals and grooms, spend their days working with our polo ponies. Bringing on youngsters beginning their polo careers and fine tuning old hands (or hooves) on the polo field, so we always have the right horses for you.
